Accountant/Business Analyst
Summary
The Accountant/Business Analyst will work closely with the Manager of Business Operations and Administration staff as a resource in creating timely and accurate financial statements; completion of reports of operations and special financial projects, general ledger maintenance, analysis of accounts, completing month end accounting processes.
Position Location: Marshfield, WI
Note: This is a short term position with the potential to be full-time.
Essential Job Functions
- Complete month-end accounting processes
- General ledger analysis of accounts.
- Prepare monthly standard reporting package.
- Prepare sales tax returns for multiple states.
- Perform general ledger maintenance.
- Process Forms 1099.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Review and post journal entries from subsidiary modules.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Perform financial analysis to improve business processes.
- Calculate accruals and amortization.
- Process payroll.
- Produce reports for executives on hours and operating performance.
- Communicate with coworkers, management, and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal are required along with a proficient knowledge of Excel and Word. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Two year degree with five years applicable experience
- ERP software; MS Excel, Word, Access; Power Point and Outlook
- Must be proficient with 10 key calculator/keypad
- Strong leadership skills with exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES – COMPETENCIES
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to handle high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding employee and company information.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. Must have working knowledge understanding of accounting software, preferably MS Dynamics GP. Working knowledge of reporting programs from relational databases.
