History

ESE is an industry-leading plant automation engineering firm.  Recognized as a Rockwell Automation Solution Partner and a recent finalist for the Integrator of the Year Award, ESE has built a strong and diverse base of manufacturing customers from coast to coast.  Our commitment to continuous improvement over the years has been crucial to the development of the most robust and cost effective control strategies available today.

Focusing on the opportunities, we salute the team members who have helped us create this rich history and valued customer relationships.

The 80s – In 1981 the company founded by Mark Weber was originally named Electrical Systems and began as a small, part-time venture. Eight years later the company becomes a full-time business and incorporates as ESE, Inc.  Throughout the 80s, ESE’s customer base continued to grow steadily reaching customers from coast to coast.

The 90s – This decade saw considerable growth and expansion of the organization. ESE joined CSIA (Control System Integrator Association) and the International Association of Food Industry Suppliers. ESE also introduced our first analytical instrument, became a UL-508a listed panel shop, and signed on as an Allen Bradley System Integrator.

The 2000s – As we entered the new century, ESE was chosen as the first business of its kind to partner as a Rockwell Automation Solution Partner and introduced the company’s first in-line analytical instrument.  By mid-decade, the company announced an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) and achieved "Certified Member"  status in CSIA and is just one of two food and beverage CSIA certified integrators in Wisconsin and one of 96 certified member companies in the world. ESE is also named one of just three Rockwell Automation Process Solution providers for Food and Beverage globally.  Proving hard work pays off, ESE is recognized by Control magazine as a finalist for the Integrator of the Year award in 2009. 

2010 and beyond -  As part of our strategic approach, ESE expands relationships with key partners including Rockwell Automation, Endress + Hauser, Wonderware and other valued partners.  ESE also launches a 5 year strategic plan to significantly grow the business and attract key personnel.
