World-class health care, outstanding schools and safe neighborhoods are a few of the additional amenities enriching our quality of life here in Marshfield, population just over 19,000.  Marshfield’s  top-notch medical facilities include two full-service medical facilities – both quality alternatives to traveling to the big cities.  Along with health care, manufacturing and agriculture – especially the dairy industry – are big business here as well. Family-friendly Marshfield is a great place to raise children, in part due to its excellent schools – including public, private and higher education. The five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school that compose Marshfield School District serve more than 4,000 students, while Columbus Catholic Schools serves additional students K-12.  Impressively, the Washington Post has ranked Marshfield High School as number one in Wisconsin in its National High School Challenge rankings. The Post ranks MHS as number 437 nationally among 1900 high schools rated.  The list includes schools that the newspaper says do the best job in preparing graduating students for college.
