Process Controls Engineer |
|
Job Location: Marshfield, WI |
|
Job Summary The Process Controls Engineer is responsible for the profitability of our customers by providing state-of-the-art automation solutions primarily in the Food and Dairy industries. Projects include both retrofits and new systems involving PLC s, industrial computers, process instrumentation, project management and other control devices. This position is responsible for developing materials specification, design of electrical schematics, equipment schedules and PLC and HMI/EOI programming. This is accomplished by performing the following duties. |

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
1. Manage multiple automation projects as assigned. This includes reviewing project documentation, communication with customers and co-workers, developing an understanding of the process being controlled and the requirements for completion, creating sequence of operations and other documentation, order parts from the Purchasing department, and directing co-workers and sub contractors.
2. Setup, program, modify, and maintain a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), and reporting applications. Applications include, but are not limited to; Allen Bradley PLC 5, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Allen Bradley CLX 5500, Allen Bradley PanelView, Rockwell Software RSView32, and Microsoft Access.
3. Maintain good customer relationships from project conception, through design, implementation, and support.
4. Performing startup tasks is a portion of this function
5. Meet or exceed profitability on the projects assigned, and assume primary responsibility for these projects.
6. Team leads one to three employees in the Engineering Department based on the project assigned.
7. Carries out project management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing customer complaints and resolving problems. |

Additional Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform service calls on direct projects or other engineer's projects as company needs.
- Stay current with industry trends. This includes keeping abreast on related web sites, reading periodicals, and attending seminars / events.
- Inform other team members on changes in the industry as their responsibilities are affected.
- Train other employees on hardware, software, and methods as needed.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Controls Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering and 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in field or in lieu of formal education equivalent work experience.
- 2 years working knowledge of PLC programming, and operator interface design skills.
- Familiarity of food and dairy processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Basic are desirable.

Responsible for general recruitment efforts focused on obtaining qualified candidates throughout the organization. The Recruiter/HR Assistant will also relieve the HR Administrator of administrative type tasks and relieves the President of Executive Administrative type functions in order to increase the time available for other management duties and responsibilities. This position will handle a wide variety of general level support, situations and conflicts involving employees throughout the organization, which brings a strict level of respecting confidentiality to the position |

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Maintain continuous recruitment efforts through resume database searches, ads, posting, phone calls, recruitment/job fairs and any other sources deemed appropriate. Acts as primary liaison with area advertising and employment agencies.
· Analyze the information provided on a prospective employee's application/resume for initial qualification. Schedule and participate in interviewing, testing, and referring applicants for positions throughout ESE. Provide professional interviewing techniques, with a good knowledge of all position functions in the company; a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure.
· When the information provided indicates a good potential employee. Performs further background reference investigation, i.e., prior employment references, transcripts, etc. to gain adequate information on which to base a selection decision. Take into consideration previous experience, education, etc. In cases where an applicant is judged unqualified, tactfully turn the applicant away.
· Maintain recruitment database and statistics, providing reports as requested.
· Maintain knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
