ESE Receives State Agriculture Grant
Marshfield, Wis. -- ESE has received a $14,000 state agricultural development grant to improve cheese yields by testing new technology to monitor and control moisture levels in the cheese-making process.
ESE's grant was one of 16 Agricultural Development and Diversification grants totaling $355,500 for products and processes designed to add value to Wisconsin products, helping companies and, ultimately farmers, compete in high-end markets, said Agriculture Secretary Rod Nilsestuen.
"This grant will help us better utilize the capabilities of our inline product analyzer and improve the ability to control the process of mozzarella cheese production and help our customers improve their operations," said ESE president Tom Walther.
ESE is working on the project with the Center for Dairy Research in Wisconsin.
Started in 1986, ESE has grown to be a leading provider of engineering systems for the food and dairy manufacturing sectors. A two-year Inc. 500 company, ESE has seen significant expansion, broadening its offerings to include analytical equipment, consulting and project management services.
